Discover Mount Lofty, Toowoomba

Just over two kilometres from Toowoomba’s CBD is the residential suburb of Mount Lofty. The authentic peak lies a little distance east of the dividing range's downward ridge. There is a lookout on the summit, television transmission services, and Jubilee Park is on the descendant region.

Known as Katoomba Point, the Mount Lofty summit is in the connecting suburb of Prince Henry Heights, and is accessible by Prince Henry Drive. The road was titled after Prince Henry, Duke of Gloucester, who was the son of Britain's King George V. The naming possibly happened in or about 1935, when Prince Henry visited Australia during the Centenary celebrations in Melbourne.

The external studies campus of the University of Queensland is in Jellicoe Street and in 1960, the Toowoomba High School was also built there to accommodate the students who were previously sharing the site at the technical college in East Toowoomba. Other public amenities consist of a rifle range on the residential outskirts and the former Mount Lofty Hospital which is now a Nursing Home.
